Emergency Funds

The Fort Collins International Center (in conjunction with the Office of International Programs) currently has four (4) emergency fund accounts, which are used to help the CSU international community in times of severe economic need. Information about each fund, and how to contribute to them, is below:

Jim Graham Fund

This fund, administered by FCIC, helps support international students and scholars who have encountered unexpected difficulties and are in need of support, whether due to sudden changes in family income, medical expenses, or other unforeseen challenges. This fund helps ensure students can remain focused on their studies and well-being. Requests for funding typically come from the Office of International Programs, who have met with students and are able to assess their overall need, and the best ways to help each applicant.

To donate to the Jim Graham Fund:

  • Online: Choose your donation amount and on the next page, in the note to seller, type 'Jim Graham fund donation.'
  • By check: Please make checks payable to ‘Fort Collins International Center,’ note the check is for the 'Jim Graham Fund' and mail to:

CSU-Administered Funds Supported by FCIC

These funds provide financial support to CSU international students and scholars who have unforeseen special financial needs that interfere with their ability to remain in school. The accounts are administered by the Office of International Programs, who receive applications from students.

Fort Collins International Center (FCIC) Emergency Assistance

This fund was created by FCIC members to provide additional financial support to the CSU international community through the Office of International Programs, allowing the staff to quickly determine and administer need to students or scholars in need.

Roy Mongelli International Student and Scholar Support Endowment

Roy Mongelli has actively supported international students and scholars at Colorado State University in a variety of ways. He was instrumental in the expansion of the International House through his generous financial support, and has provided leadership within the Fort Collins International Center and with CSU student organizations; notably, the Global Ambassadors program.

To donate to one of the CSU-held accounts:

  • Pay by credit card, changing the designation to 'Fort Collins International Center (FCIC) Emergency Assistance' or 'Roy Mongelli International Student and Scholar Support Endowment.'
  • To pay by check:

Memorial & Tribute Contributions

A contribution made as a Memorial or Tribute can be an unforgettable way to honor a loved one, or a special occasion. What better way to celebrate a life, an anniversary, or commemorate a remarkable era in your life and make a difference.

Matching Gifts

Many companies give to charities on an annual basis and encourage their employees to show the same philanthropic attitude. In addition, some companies will offer a match to an employee’s gift, possibly doubling the gift received by the organization. Please contact your employer’s Human Resource department and inquire about a matching gift program. Who knows, maybe you will start a trend that pays your generosity forward!

Remember Us in Your Will – Bequests & Estate Planning

Your generosity can continue in an extraordinary way by remembering the Fort Collins International Center in your will. A charitable bequest in your will or revocable living trust can help ensure a valuable estate tax deduction. You can choose to give cash, personal or real estate property, or a portion of the estate’s value. Please consult your financial advisor with questions and for further information.

Fundraisers

Each year, FCIC participates in the World Unity Fair by hosting a popular International Bazaar; this has historically been our largest fundraiser each year. The World Unity Fair is held in the spring, and there are three main ways to get involved: donate items, volunteer before or during the bazaar, and/or shop at the bazaar! To donate an item or volunteer for the event, please contact our Bazaar Coordinator.

We are currently in need of a Fundraising Coordinator. If you are interested, please see the information below and reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator with questions or to get involved!
